A group of children from Harestock Primary School had a unique experience when they travelled to London on Tuesday 14th June.
They were welcomed to the Houses of Parliament by their local MP, Steve Brine, and education guides gave the children a grand tour and an outline of some of the history of the ancient Palace of Westminster, before the group spent time in Parliament's popular Education Centre.
Following a workshop about the workings of parliamentary business, Steve met the children for a question and answer session with the Year 6 pupils.
Steve said; “It’s always a fantastic experience to host local schools in Parliament and we’ve so missed them during the pandemic. I hope the children and staff from Harestock enjoyed the experience as much as I did and many other schools will book to visit now the experience is once again open to all.”
