Steve Brine visited Itchen Abbas Primary School this morning to meet staff and students.
The MP for Winchester spent time with the combined Year 5/6 class led by Mr Rob Bogan and then met with the School Council made up of pupils from across the year groups.
They discussed their priorities for the year ahead and sought Steve's advice on how to campaign.
Steve says; "Itchen Abbas is a smashing rural primary school and the children are always so polite and friendly. It was lovely to spend time with them and to catch-up with Aimee Dear the Headteacher. She rightly raised with me some of the issues facing small schools at this time including student numbers and the challenge of meeting the new pay award for teachers from existing budgets.
"I have already fed this back to the Ministerial team at the Department for Education."
