A Hampshire musician is looking to raise funds for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal by donating profits from his song, Lest We Forget.
Steve Simpson, also known as One Bloke One Mandolin, is a member of the Riders branch of the Royal British Legion and wrote the track, which is well known by many rally-attending motorcyclists, a few years ago to raise funds for the Poppy Appeal.
He said: “I have been a keen biker for nearly thirty years. I play motorcycle rallies all over the UK from the huge 20,000+ attendances of the Bulldog Bash and Welsh International Motorcycle Show to small traditional bike rallies.
“Then there are the mid-sized rallies where I play and compere a marquee for the weekend organised by the NABD (National Association for Bikers with a Disability) of which, along with Billy Connolly, former world superbike champion Neil Hodgkinson, Lord Rotherwick and para-olympic gold medalist David Holding, I am a patron.
“I have also appeared at music festivals such as Americana, Weyfest, Beautiful Days, the Westport Folk & Blues festival in Ireland and the Akaciju Aleja bard festival in Lithuania.
“I'm on a mission now with this song, and I want to use it to raise funds for the Royal British Legion.”
Lest We Forget is available for you to download at a small cost, to raise funds to help those who have given so much more. You can buy the song via www.cdbaby.com/cd/steviefolk
