Steve Brine visited Kings Worthy Primary School on Monday 14th January, as the village woke up to a small smattering of snow.
The MP called in to meet with staff and students before heading off to the House of Commons. Steve had a tour of the school, chatted with the Head, addressed a Key Stage 2 Assembly and took questions from the children. He also touched on the school's work with autistic children and saw the ECAR reading programme in action.
Speaking from the train to London, Steve said: "The kids were terribly disappointed there wasn't more snow this morning but they had lots of questions to take their mind off the white stuff and it was great as always to chat with them. I've never before been asked which is my favourite political party other than the Conservatives!
"Kings Worthy is a really nice school that is clearly improving under the strong leadership of Julie Mullane who I have a lot of time for.
"The site is busy with the pre-school and Reign and Shine Children's Centre in-situ and it's going to get busier as the planned primary expansion becomes a reality this year and next. It was good to talk through some of the issues the increased pupil numbers pose for the school going forward."
