Rail passengers using Winchester and Southampton Parkway station car parks face above inflation price rises.

South West Trains have imposed a 19% rise (from £4.20 to £5 a-day) at Winchester and a 20% rise at Southampton Parkway.

Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for Winchester, Steve Brine, said he was disappointed to see such rises at a time when we are trying to encourage people onto rail.

"I understand station car parks are still competitive when compared to other town centre car park but this is no excuse for squeezing more money out of people just trying to get to work each day."
