Steve Brine attended a celebration party in St Cross on Saturday 8th September, as local residents marked the culmination of their campaign for a safe crossing at the junction of Lower Stanmore Lane.
Organised by a leading local resident, Steve joined councillors and local people at the event, which was held to thank everyone who has helped in the campaign for the crossing.
The crossing is due for completion this month, and will allow local children to cross the road safely on their way to and from school. Steve joined with residents and local county councillor Brian Collin, in leading the campaign, and after months of hard work residents received the news they were keenly awaiting back in January.
Speaking after the event, Steve said: "We all worked so hard for this, and it was a real case of all the community coming together. It was great to see so many people once again, and I would like to take this opportunity to pay tribute to all those who took part in this successful campaign."
