Local MP Steve Brine used the short parliamentary recess to drop into Trinity Winchester today for a catch-up on the charity's work in the city.

He met with Chairman, Peter North, and Manager Sue McKenna to discuss fundraising and future plans ahead of their AGM which will be held on Thursday 9th November 2017 in Winchester.

Steve was told the charity has met its fundraising targets early and heard about ambitious plans for a housing first project which could see a residential wing opened in the city.

He said; "I have a lot of time for Trinity and especially Peter and Sue. Their work in Winchester is nothing short of essential and is, I know, greatly valued by Winchester City Council and Hampshire County Council.

"I was really interested to hear about their future plans and in particular the drop off in illegal high use which they have noticed markedly in recent months since the new legislation came into effect.

The MP said he was also very pleased to also discuss the community rehabilitation company, Purple Futures, which works with prisoners released from custody after serving 2-months or less.
