Steve Brine joined councillors and staff from the Three Rivers Community Rail Partnership at Chandler's Ford station on Sunday 13th October as they celebrated their tenth birthday.
In a busy afternoon, the event included a bike doctor, a guided family bike ride, face painting, homemade jewellery stand, a raffle and a display of old station photographs. In addition, there were quizzes, cake-tasting and a rail-related art competition from local primary schools.
Speaking afterwards, Steve said: "I have done lots of things since becoming an MP but I've never attended a birthday party for a railway station before! It's testament to the vision shown ten years ago that Chandler's Ford Station is now part of the fabric and you can't imagine it not being there.
"I know many of my constituents value it greatly and on their behalf, pay tribute to Three Rivers and Sustrans as well as the County Council of course who made this happen."
