Steve Brine has taken up the issue of dangerous driving through Wonston, after he joined a group of school mums collecting their children from the school bus.
The Winchester MP saw for himself the dangers of speeding cars and lorries, as they walked from the triangle, where the South Wonston Primary School bus drops the children off, down past the Wonston Arms towards the church.
Steve said: "It was quite clear to me, not only from walking in the village myself on a number of occasions, but from listening to a wider group of constituents as we chatted afterwards, that there is a safety issue with traffic passing through the village."
Keen to help, Steve wants to gauge the extent of the problem and, at this stage more than anything, to hear from as many residents as possible.
He added: "We need evidence behind us, and that comes from what the village tells me as well as from any studies that subsequently take place. To that extent, I have written to every household in the village. I have also opened a conversation with Hampshire County Council, and am in the process of linking up a neighbouring Community Speedwatch group with Wonston residents."
