The Winchester & Chandler's Ford MP hosted "Picture England" which is a new exhibition and project from conservation charity, the WWF.　 It looks at climate change from a positive perspective, picturing a future where action against climate change has protected and preserved the areas we love.
WWF have teamed up with professional artist - Jane Skingley - to meet people across Southern England to hear why they love their local areas and what they are doing to protect them against climate change. The team spent time in Winchester while developing the project, working closely with WinACC.
Attending the event, held in the House of Commons, were new WinACC Executive Director, Tom Brenan, as well as Richard Blackman and Alison Skillen from the organisation.
Steve Brine said: "I was immediately drawn to the whole concept of Picture England because it's a positive idea and it's been really well done.
"Images of climate change should not always be presented in the negative so the notion of showcasing what action in this area will protect is really smart.
"Also, any excuse to show off some of Winchester's jewels, such as the world famous River Itchen, cannot be easily passed up."
