Steve Brine has criticised the announcement that commuters are to be hit with an 8% rise in ticket prices.

The Winchester & Chandler's Ford MP, who is a regular commuter himself, commented that local rail passengers were already forced to pay extremely high fares to use the service.

The increases are due to go through by January 2012.
