Steve Brine met with staff and pupils at Otterbourne Primary School on Friday 7th June, and was introduced to a unique learning tool.
The Otterbourne Wildlife Lodge is a newly purpose built self sustaining eco building on a unique Site of Importance for Nature Conservation located within the heart of Otterbourne Village. This facility is open to all in the community to use, and serves educational and social purposes as a classroom, and use for meetings, training, arts, drama and music.
While at the school, Steve was given a tour by Year R and Year 5 pupils, as well as Headteacher Alison Langrish. They discussed admissions over the past few years, as well as admissions coming up this September.
Speaking afterwards, Steve said: "Thank you to staff and children for making me so welcome in showing me their lovely school. Having missed the opening earlier this year, it was great to finally see the O.W.L. for myself.
"The children were so lively, bright and engaging, wanting to chat to me about their school. What struck me especially was the wide range of activities the school undertakes to develop the children's skills and confidence, be that in the arts, drama and sport."
