Steve Brine joined Cllr Judith Grajewski at Hampshire County Council on Friday 16th September, as they met with the lead schools admissions officer, Martin Goff, to discuss future school places planning.
The MP, who previously led the successful campaign to expand school places in Winchester in 2011-12, following an unexpected baby boom in 2008, was keen to praise HCC for the work they did for the city, as well as commend the current and future levels of investment into the city's education economy.
This meeting focussed on Chandler's Ford and Hiltingbury, which were not affected by the issues Winchester managed at the turn of the decade, and the group went through detailed plans for the provision of primary places, in all year groups, over the coming years.
Steve Brine said: "It was great to catch up with Martin, who worked so hard to ensure Winchester solved its problems in the last Parliament. Judith Grajewski and I were very keen to chat over future provision for Chandler's Ford, which is a popular place for young families to move to, and in particular examine the local education 'ecosystem' with relation to Otterbourne, Eastleigh and the Test Valley.
"This was a very productive hour, and Judith and I will be broadening our discussions shortly."
