MP Steve Brine held a Summer Tour event with a difference in Colden Common today - a kerbside surgery in the heart of the village.
Steve and the team set-up a stall on the corner of Tees Farm and Piping Road and invited local residents to stop and chat. They had a queue of residents for more than two hours wanting to discuss a range of local and national issues.
Speaking after the event, Steve said; "This was a brilliant Summer Tour event and one I enjoyed very much. We had speeding cars on Tees Farm Road raised, the long-running saga of an abandoned car as well as lots of concern about Eastleigh Borough Council's debacle of a Local Plan and its likely impact on the village.
"A few wanted to discuss Brexit, on both sides of the argument it must be said, while others wanted to discuss overseas aid, school spending and mental health provision. It really was all and sundry and it was great to talk. I think residents enjoyed the chance to meet their local MP right on the doorstep and a number said they'd lived in the village for many years and had never seen an MP do this before."
Earlier in the day Steve had spent several hours chatting with constituents door to door in the New Road area of Colden Common which has said was a really useful way to engage with people and hear what's on their mind.
