Highways England today published the formal statutory consultation on plans to transform Junction 9 of the M3 at Winchester.
Local MP Steve Brine has campaigned for years to bring the scheme forward and unlock one of the worst bottlenecks and congestion points in the south of England.
Steve was briefed on the plans by the HE team last month at a special session in Parliament and today, Tuesday 2nd July, local ward councillors were shown the proposals.
Mr Brine said: “This has been one of the longest-running issues over the past decade, and I have fought for years for improvements to Junction 9 which is a key part of the local, regional and national road infrastructure.
"We have a massive opportunity to make a real difference here, for the local area and much further afield, so I urge all constituents to take a look and take an active part in shaping the scheme. We have to get this over the line now.”
