Volunteers from the Chandler's Ford community have organised the fifth annual Western Indian food festival known as the Marathi Pariwar.
It was held today (Sunday 27th January 2019) at the same venue in Chandlers Ford - the Methodist church on Winchester Road - and was packed with members of the local Indian community as well as many others who came to sample the traditional food on sale.
Local MP Steve Brine and his young family went along once again at the invitation of Dr Pooja Patwardhan who organised the event on behalf of SEMP (the South of England Marathi Pariwar).
He was joined by Chandler's Ford Borough - and County - Councillors, Mike Hughes, Judith Grakewski (EBC and HCC) plus Margaret Atkinson.
Steve says; "This is such an interesting event and really unlike any other I get to attend in this amazing and diverse constituency. I was so grateful to Pooja for inviting us and enjoyed the chance to catch up with many members of the community. As ever, the food was just incredible and, while I think I have work to do on the taste buds of young Emily and William, we're getting there!"
