The majority of the A303 has now been dualled, but there are still over 35 miles of outdated single-carriageway, which results in congestion, particularly in the summer, delays and unreliable journey times.
The government plans to construct a tunnel to alleviate the damage the existing road does to numerous historical monuments on the route, including Stonehenge, alongside a raft of improvements along the corridor.
Steve Brine said: "My inbox and postbag are testament to the fact that a great number of my constituents are interested in this, and every year when I take the family for a few days in Devon I see that something needs to be done.
