Steve has welcomed news that the New Alresford Town Trust are able to continue the Community Minibus thanks to a series of grants.
The NATT has received a total of £3190 from Hampshire County Council, Winchester City Council and the Old Alresford Parish Council. This means that the minibus, which was purchased in October 2008, can carry on servicing the wider Alresford area.
Steve said: “I am really pleased for the Community Minibus project that they have managed to secure these grants. However, I am aware that they are seeking further help from local organisations, and I wish them the very best of luck in securing this valuable asset for local people, particularly the disabled and the elderly.”
Since its inception the minibus has made nearly 1000 journeys, and is maintained by an unpaid coordinator and around 30 volunteer drivers.
