Winchester Cathedral Refectory is currently looking for volunteers to help as we enter the New Year.

Currently, there are around 40 volunteers who help out throughout the year, with most doing a hour hour shift two or three times a year.

Coordinator Sarah Robinson said: "The work is just clearing tables, making tea and coffee, and delivering the food orders (not very taxing). It can be quite entertaining, chatting to friends who pop in or answering queries from tourists."

Steve Brine, who has volunteered in the past, said: "This is a wonderful service not only for local people who I know for a fact really value the Refectory, but for the thousands of tourists who pass through the city."
