Steve Brine spoke out in Parliament recently about continuing concerns in respect of Eastleigh's absent Local Plan, and specifically about the way his constituents in Chandler's Ford have been left off the map when it comes to consultation about its eventual development.
The Chandler's Ford MP joined forces with Eastleigh MP Mims Davies in the debate, on 9th February, as both representatives said that their constituents felt 'locked out' of the consultation, which was launched on 23rd December.
Speaking afterwards, Steve Brine said: "I was very pleased to be able to raise this issue on the floor of the House of Commons, and echo the feelings of my long-term neighbour Mims Davies on the record.
"The local council in Eastleigh has held eight exhibitions whereby residents can comment on the drafts plans and help shape them, but crucially, it has not included the community in Chandler's Ford and Hiltingbury, which as I have said before is quite wrong given how the scale of future development will affect us all."
