Steve Brine popped into Winchester today (Monday 15 May) for the launch of national Dementia Awareness Week.

Dementia Friendly Winchester were holding a street stall in St Maurice's Covet just off the High Street to raise awareness of the condition and the support available locally.

They were also showcasing the many Winchester businesses who have signed up to be 'Dementia Friendly' and, as well as Steve Brine, were joined by the Mayor of Winchester - Cllr Jane Rutter - in one of her last official engagements.

Steve says; "We all want to ensure at people with dementia can lead a full life and are met with understanding and support when they are out and about in the city. It's just great that so many businesses and organisations have committed to becoming dementia-friendly and their staff are 'Dementia Friends'."

You can find a list of supportive businesses and more information via the links below.
