Steve Brine met with the Environment Agency on Friday 19th September as the team launched a new Incident Command Vehicle.
The launch was part of a live flood response exercise, held at North Walls Recreation Ground, to train staff in helping with a response to a flooding event in Winchester. As part of the exercise they will tested the capability to deploy the demountable flood barrier and test the new incident command vehicle.
Steve Brine said: "So much of the early part of this year was spent with the Environment Agency, and local authorities, coping with the floods, and there was an awful lot of worry over that time from my constituents.
"I have witnessed the exercise this morning, and the very impressive new Incident Command Vehicle. While it is a fantastic tool to help the EA move swiftly in managing events on the ground, and a very positive response, I am sure I will be forgiven for saying I do not want us to be in the position where we have to see this in action for real."
