Steve Brine has spoken of his delight as work has begun on a safe Puffin crossing outside Osborne School.

The Winchester & Chandler's Ford MP hosted children and staff up in the House of Commons back in March 2012, as the school took their campaign the a badly-needed safe crossing point on Andover Road to Westminster.

Steve said: "I was delighted to hear from the school earlier today that work has now begun, and the children will have this safe crossing point as they make their way to and out of school.

"As a parent of two children myself, I know there will be many happy mums and dads, and hopefully the work can be completely as swiftly as possible."

Cllr Fiona Mather said: "I am pleased that the campaign has been successful, and will be keeping a close eye to ensure there is minimum disruption."
