Steve said: "Previous competitions have been a great success, with several hundred entries from right across my constituency. The judges and I have been seriously impressed with the quality of the artwork – judging the finalists let alone the winners has been extremely difficult!"
The winning painting will be used on the front of Steve's official 2014 Christmas card which will be sent out to community groups, public services, charities and local businesses, including the Prime Minister at No.10 and his cabinet. The winner will have their name, age and school printed on the inside front page of the card.
Once again, the Theatre Royal have very kindly donated the first prize of a family ticket to this year's Pantomime 'Sleeping Beauty' and Marwell Zoo are again donating the 6 year group prizes of family tickets to Marwell Zoo.
This year, helping Steve to judge the entries will be local artist Daphne Vaughan. Every child who enters the competition will receive a special certificate - and prizes will be awarded to the winner of each year group. The overall winner will also receive a special prize at a special presentation ceremony at their school.
