Winchester & Chandler's Ford MP Steve Brine has secured good news for Park Home residents across the country.
Speaking in the House of Commons, Steve asked Climate Change Secretary, and neighbouring coalition MP Chris Huhne, about Government plans to help Park Home owners with important insulation measures.
The Government's 'Green Deal' comes online in 2012 and will bring vital home insulation improvements to millions of existing UK homes. Private providers will make the investment and recoup their costs over a period of 25 years through utility bills.
He asked Ministers whether Park Homes would be eligible under the Green Deal when available.
Steve said:"I have heard from a number of Park Home owners since being elected who expressed grave disappointment they were not eligible for the soon to be wound-up 'Warm Front Scheme'.
"Many of these residents regularly feel they are treated differently to everyone else and there are a number of us in Parliament seeking to address that in many areas. I was pleased to hear a positive response from the Minister about Green Deal eligibility and will be making sure the Department makes its availability adequately known to residents locally at the relevant time."
Steve Brine is a member of the All Party Group for Park Homes in Parliament.
