Steve Brine welcomed a group of Year 6 children to Parliament on Tuesday 8th January.
They took a tour of Parliament, which including watching part of a debate on Brexit, before meeting their MP for a special Q&A session.
Headteacher Jackie Sankey said: “It was a fantastic experience for the children in Year 6 to experience the House of Commons, especially during a Brexit debate. The children learnt so much from their Houses of Parliament tour and also listening to Steve Brine, answering questions about the different roles he has in politics. It gave a fascinating insight about being an MP. A couple of children were even inspired to have a future in politics.”
Steve Brine said: “It was a pleasure to meet Year 6 in the House, and I know they really enjoyed the day. I was delighted to be able to meet up with them and answer their questions, as explaining what we do here in Parliament is very important to me. They certainly picked an exciting time to come!”
