The Upper Itchen Valley Society has been assisting the project by enabling the UIVS bank account to be used to pay in any donations to the project.
The team leading the "To Honour a Promise" project will be holding a preliminary exhibition from 15th June to 7th July in the City Space at the Discovery Centre in Winchester. The objective of the exhibition is to give more details about these camps and to try to find out whether there are any Winchester residents who may have family stories or artefacts from this time.
The project is also looking for volunteers who are able to give one or two hours to man the desk at the Discovery Centre during the exhibition. The hours it will be open are:
Monday – Friday 10 am – 6 pm
Saturday 10 am – 5 pm
Sunday 11 am – 3 pm
