Representatives of Winchester's Christian and Muslim faiths came together today (Sunday 24 September) to have lunch and celebrate one community.
The event was organised by Winchester Cathedral's Roly Riem in conjunction with the Winchester Muslim Cultural Association and attended by the Dean, the Mayor of Winchester, the Hampshire Cultural Trust and Steve Brine MP with his family as well as residents from across the City.
Canon Roly spoke as did Miff Kayum about the ties that bind us together and the many things we have in common. Miff said the WMCA are continuing to work on a permanent home for the Muslim community in Winchester.
Roly Riem had the idea for the get-together following the tragic events in Manchester and London this Summer.
