Steve Brine went to St John the Baptist Church in Alresford on Monday 31st July for the Licensing of The Reverend Julia Myles.
Steve made a short statement of welcome, as the local MP, as Julia became Priest-in-Charge of the Arle Valley Benefice and her family were welcomed to the parishes.
Following her curacy in Northumberland, Julia, a former Primary School teacher, specialised in creative and performing arts across education and community settings, including a stint lecturing at Birmingham University.
Steve Brine said: "I was thrilled to play a small part in welcoming Julia and The Bishop of Basingstoke, The Right Reverend David Williams, led a fantastic service.
"It was great to see representation from the Alresford Pigs there too, among so many local people, and we all wish Julia and her family the very best as they settle in."
