Hampshire-based timber staircase manufacturer, Multi-Turn, opened their new state of the art manufacturing facility on the Moorside industrial estate in Winnall, Winchester, on Monday 6th November 2023. The inauguration ceremony was presided over by local Conservative MP, Steve Brine.

Formerly located in a 12,000 sq. ft factory in the leafy village of Twyford, on the outskirts of the city, the industry-leading staircase manufacturer has made the move to the new, cutting edge 42,000 sq. ft facility, ushering in a new era of technical innovation and expansion for this well-established family business.

The Winchester factory is strategically located alongside the M3 motorway and houses the latest manufacturing technology, embracing automation and efficiency, enabling the business to significantly increase their production capacity to accommodate demand.

Alongside the physical expansion of the factory, Multi-Turn is also looking to recruit new members of staff for the production team. The local business already employs 46 people from the local community and is actively recruiting for more as the company positions itself for the next phase in its development.

Steve Brine MP said; “Multi-Turn are clearly a strong family business creating skilled local jobs to boost our local economy. I was interested to see some of the innovation and technology they’re using to keep them as leaders in the industry. They are sure to be a very welcome addition to the ever-impressive range of businesses, including a number of manufacturing companies, on the Moorside estate in Winnall.”

Eric Cowley, founder of Multi-Turn, stated: "The inauguration of our Winchester factory is a testament to Multi-Turn 's commitment to excellence and growth. This expansion not only enables us to meet the rising demand for our products but also strengthens our ties within the Winchester community. We can’t think of a better home!"

Visitors are welcome to tour the new factory but must arrange an appointment in advance by calling 01962 712299 or emailing [email protected].

Hampshire Chronicle column - Farewell

Thursday, 30 May, 2024
My final column is perhaps more reflective than usual but I hope you will forgive me as I prepare to formally step down as Parliament is formally Dissolved ahead of the General Election on July 4. Fourteen years ago, in May 2010, I was first elected as our MP.
