Steve met Steve today as Redgrave and Brine joined forces to promote Fairtrade Fortnight.
Olympic legend Sir Steve Redgrave popped into Parliament today (Weds 9 March 2011) to help promote Fairtrade Fortnight 2011.
Five time Olympic gold medallist and Fairtrade ambassador met MPs, including Winchester’s Steve Brine as part of an attempt he is leading to break the record for the world's longest bunting. Sir Steve and Members signed a piece of the bunting as pictured (right).
‘Bunting for Justice’ links to Fairtrade's campaign to end unfair European cotton subsidies, which has received broad cross-party support.
Steve Brine said; "Winchester does Fairtrade in a big way, not just during the awareness fortnight but all the time and I am very proud of that as the local MP. It was great to meet one of my sporting heroes this afternoon and help promote this awesome world record attempt."
