Steve Brine joined up with his strong local team in Alresford on Saturday 10th February, as they spent the morning chatting to residents on a number of local and national issues.

As well as Cllr Lisa Griffiths, who is a long-standing and highly-respected local representative, the team was joined by well-known town councillor Irene Spencer, who will be standing in the Alresford & Itchen Valley elections for Winchester City Council in May, following Cllr Ernie Jeffs' decision to retire after many years of outstanding service.

Steve said: "I am thrilled that Irene is standing on 3rd May, and having known her for a long time, I know she really wants to promote business in the town, and will hit the ground running if she is elected.

"We had a really interesting morning, and residents raised a number of local issues. In addition, I also met several people who wanted to take the time to speak to me about national issues. A number came up, including what one lady referred to as Michael Gove's environmental revolution, and our action on plastics.

"Brexit also came up, and I had a number of really interesting conversations which were very helpful to me indeed as we identified strong support."
