South Wonston Parish Council has called a Public Meeting to discuss the new Motocross planning application to allow use as a permanent site for motocross and other activities at Three Maids Hill. The meeting is at 8pm on Tuesday 6th September 2011 at South Wonston Village Hall.

Local MP Steve Brine has led calls opposing the site for some considerable time. He said: "You do have to wonder how many variations of 'no' this community needs to give.

"I have never been against the sport of motocross but the fact remains the Three Maids Hill site is entirely inappropriate located as it is so close to so many homes."

The meeting will include discussion of the details of the application, which has been registered with Winchester City Council - 11/01233/FUL. Comments or objections have to be submitted to Winchester City Council by 16 September 2011.

The MP added: "I very strongly encourage local residents to take this opportunity to put their points across to Winchester City Council."

If you wish to raise concerns or find out more about the process, speak to Councillor Stephen Godfrey, 119 Downs Road, South Wonston 01962 882004.
