Partnering with leading specialist consultants, the hospital will offer access to the latest diagnostic technology including a cutting edge Siemens wide bore 3T MRI scanner, X-ray, ultrasound and standing CT, as well as a large outpatients department, two operating theatres and private patient rooms.
Cutting the ribbon alongside Alex Danson-Bennett was Steve Brine, Conservative MP for Winchester and Chandler’s Ford who spoke with enthusiasm about the new clinic: “People in Winchester deserve the best when it comes to their health and fitness. Post-COVID, we know that there are challenges in tackling the NHS backlog, and so improved patient choice and of course relationships between the NHS and independent healthcare providers is vital. We’re very lucky to have this fantastic facility open and available in Winchester.”
Alex Danson-Bennett, Olympic gold and bronze medallist and retired International hockey player for England and Great Britain reflected: “From my perspective as both an athlete and a local resident, the facilities at the Healthshare Clinic Winchester are exceptional, and the care first class. Being able to see leading consultants, some of which I have worked with for many years, as well as rapid access to imaging and physiotherapy, provide a fantastic new option for both local sportspeople and the general public”.
The hospital also offers private GP and physiotherapy services, with a spacious pre and post rehabilitation gym featuring top of the range equipment, and impressive views of the South Downs National Park.
Hospital Executive Director Jacqui Dorney said: “We’re delighted to officially open the Healthshare Clinic Winchester and we’re looking forward to providing the local community with rapid access to the very best consultants and technology, in a fantastic new building that provides a superior patient experience. Our vision is to help people stay healthy, so they can do the things that matter to them.”
