Local MP Steve Brine is to chair a high-level meeting in Alresford focussing on policing in the town surrounding villages.

The meeting, which will also focus on the recent decision to move the Alresford Police Station, will give residents the chance to put questions directly to Chief Inspector James Fulton. It will take place on Wednesday 5th October between 7:30-9:00pm, in the upstairs room at the Community Centre on West Street, Alresford.

The Winchester & Alresford MP said: "Alresford is a lovely area, and while the town is very peaceful, we know the outsiders' view that crime simply does not happen here is utterly false.

"We have witnessed break-ins at local businesses and people understandably want to hear more about plans to move the police station. I hope residents will make time to come along and put their questions to the Chief Inspector."
