Steve Brine chaired a high-level meeting in the House of Commons on Tuesday 20th January as the Police & Crime Commissioner, Simon Hayes, spoke to county MPs.
Mr Hayes briefed the cross-party group of Conservative and Labour MPs from Hampshire on his work, and provided updates on his police and crime plan for the county, while there was also a discussion around the police precept for 2015/16.
Steve Brine said: "This was a useful briefing for us all and the full turnout of MPs from both parties proved how importantly we all view policing issues in our areas.
"Simon's message around the rise in his precept for the year ahead was clear and I support his near 2% rise, helping as it will do protect front-line policing in my constituency while the force manages the savings we are demanding of it as we try to balance the books in our country."
