Local MP Steve Brine joined students at the University of Winchester today as he became guest editor for Winchester News Online.
Winol is produced by students of the BJCT-accredited BA (Hons) in Journalism at the University of Winchester. Alongside providing campus news, Winchester News Online brings the latest news, commentary, politics and sport from Hampshire and the south.
The MP, who last performed the role of guest editor in February 2014, spent the afternoon chatting with trainee journalists as they finalised their weekly news bulletin before watching its recording. Steve, who did the course himself and was a journalist before entering Parliament, also took part in a debrief session and answered questions about news production.
The November 6th bulletin covered stories including the ram-raid on Tesco in Kings Worthy, commemorations to mark the Armistice and the Winchester Round-Table bonfire event.
