While there he met with CEO Andy Watson to explore issues facing the insurance industry, and find out what more can be done to help insurers reduce customer premiums.
Mr Brine said: "As the Government is now in the process of introducing new legislation to combat fraudulent whiplash claims and also how personal injury claims are settled, I wanted to find out first hand from Ageas exactly what the implications of these changes are and that's exactly what I achieved last Friday.
"As one of the largest motor insurers in the UK, Ageas was well placed to brief me on how certain changes were impacting the industry and ultimately driving up the price of motor insurance.
"I'd like to thank the employees of Ageas for spending the time with me to discuss the ongoing Personal Injury Discount rate review and steps to limit fraudulent whiplash claims. I will be tracking the proposed legislative changes closely to ensure that Ministers are taking on board the feedback from the insurance industry.
"Our area has a strong heritage in the financial service sector, which directly and indirectly employs thousands, and I want to support them and their continued success."
