Steve Brine MP

Winchester and Chandler's Ford's Member of Parliament has met with Hampshire County Councillor's Leader and Deputy Leader for a brief catch-up on a number of issues in the constituency.

Steve met with Councillor Rob Humby and Councillor Roz Chadd, who both took on the roles earlier this year, to understand their current financial pressures and to raise various issues of my own following recent local schools visits and the M3 Junction 9 roadshow.

On Mr Brine's agenda was also the developing Active Travel Fund and how that will affect Winchester and the surrounding area.

The MP said; "I'm always grateful for some time to sit down with the team at Hampshire County Council and I'm assured that Cllr Humby and Cllr Chadd are well across the issues at hand. There is plenty to progress from our meeting and I look forward to continuing the strong relationship I have with our county."

Hampshire Chronicle column - Farewell

Thursday, 30 May, 2024
My final column is perhaps more reflective than usual but I hope you will forgive me as I prepare to formally step down as Parliament is formally Dissolved ahead of the General Election on July 4. Fourteen years ago, in May 2010, I was first elected as our MP.
