Speaking in the chamber on Monday 12th May, the Winchester & Chandler's Ford MP told of his fear about SNP plans which would leave just 12 Typhoon jets in operation in Scotland.
He said this would not only be a reduction on current numbers protecting Scottish airspace, but a huge reduction in the number of jets available to protect the air approach not only to Scotland itself, but to the whole of the rest of the United Kingdom.
Later on in the session, Mr Brine also once again raised his concern about aviation safety with regard to the proposed Bullington Cross wind farm.
He pressed Ministers to ensure that local planning authorities, and the Planning Inspectorate, treat objections to the proposals, from nearby MOD bases extremely seriously.
