The Chandler's Ford MP is a former boy scout, and as well as thanking the team for their hard work, spoke about his admiration for the movement.
As well as reports on local Beaver packs, the meeting heard from 1st Chandlers Ford Scout Group, 2nd Chandlers Ford Scout Group, 3rd Chandlers Ford (URC)Scout Group, and 4th Chandlers Ford Scout Group, as well as 15th (Allbrook and Otterbourne) Scout Group and 1st Hursley Scout Group.
Speaking afterwards, Steve said: "As a former boy scout myself this was a pleasure to attend and meet so many of the leaders who make scouting possible in Chandler's Ford, Hursley and Otterbourne.
"It was just good to drop in and thank them for the work they put in to give so many young boys and girls the chances afforded to them by the scouting movement."
The event was also attended by the new Mayor of Eastleigh, Cllr Terry Noyce, and his wife the Mayoress.
