Defra is proposing that the Flood Reinsurance Scheme (Flood Re) addresses the availability and affordability of flood insurance by providing transitional support to households at flood risk over a 25-year period as part of a gradual transition towards more risk-reflective prices.
Steve Brine said: "The purpose of the consultation is quite simple, in that Government wants to get on with this quickly, I hear by next year.
"However, it is crucial to hear from householders and businesses which could be at risk, as well as from across the industry.
Back in February, Steve Brine cleared his diary as he worked around the clock with local agencies and community volunteers as parts of his constituency battled the flooding. Recently, Steve brought the Prime Minister's 'Flood Envoy' to the city as he got much-needed government support for Winchester.
Steve continued: "We all know that several communities across the Winchester district were very badly hit, and I urge residents who were affected to take a look."
