The Ministry of Defence has in recent years published the sites listed for disposal as part of their restructuring of the UK's defence industry, included in those is Sir John Moore Barracks in Winchester.

Steve Brine, the Member of Parliament for Winchester and Chandler's Ford, last visited the site in Spring 2023 to meet senior MoD officials and the commanding officer of the Army Training Regiment (ATR) who have occupied the site since it's construction.

During a busy Friday morning Steve again met with members of the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) and senior officers of the ATR to receive an update on the planned disposal in 2026.
