Steve Brine spent part of Friday morning at Kings' School in Winchester, meeting staff and students and taking a short tour of the campus.
Speaking on his way to the hospital for his next meeting, Steve said: "I do my best to visit as many schools as often as I can, as it is important to be able to discuss the issues of the day, and it was great to be able to visit Kings' this morning.
"There was a lot for us to discuss, including Academy status, funding issues, school applications and the government's announcement this week on the exciting developments for the teaching of IT. I was also able to get some soundings on my campaign for bring a much-needed primary school to Winchester."
Steve has been pushing for a new city primary school having been inundated with worried parents struggling to find places for their children.
Steve continued: "I was able to take a look at the art and media classes, and also the excellent astro pitch and swimming pool, and would like to thank Susan and the team for their warm welcome."
