Sunday (December 6 2009) sees the Santa Fun Run 2009 in aid of Naomi House Children’s Hospice.
Emily and I will be officially starting this year’s race at 11am at Winchester Rugby Club before racing around the course to raise money for this excellent local charity. Popcorn will also be joining us and has been promised a set of antlers to help him blend in!
Steve says; "As 2009 draws to a close we cannot forget what a difficult year it has been for Naomi House after it emerged £5.7m of their hard-raised money was invested in one of the troubled Icelandic banks.
"I have worked very hard alongside the charity, as many of you will know, to keep the issue in the spotlight and keep the pressure on Ministers to honour the clear promise Harriet Harman made (right here in Winchester on an episode of Radio 4’s Any Questions) that charities in this position would not be left on their own. There has been some good news in this regard, as reported in local press, but the fight goes on and will no doubt continue into 2010."

I would strongly urge you to watch the short-film I made earlier this year when I visited Naomi House in Sutton Scotney. If you need any reminding why I am supporting this local charity so much, I think that film - made for Steve Brine TV - will help. Watch film here!
