Gavin Brown, from Chandler's Ford, is currently raising money to travel to Nicaragua to carry out important environmental and charity work.
He plans to take the trip with Progressio, which works in local communities alongside established local charities, based on the needs of local people.
Gavin said: "Taking part in the International Citizen Service scheme will involve raising money before departure. This doesn't fund my own trip, but goes directly to the charity's running costs allowing other people the same opportunity."
