Steve Brine visited Oliver's Battery Primary School over lunchtime on Friday 20th May to join in celebrations over the school's recent Ofsted result.
The school was in 'Special Measures' not so long ago, and had more recently been 'Requires Improvement'. The latest Ofsted report was published earlier this Spring, and Steve was delighted to hear that the school had been awarded 'good'.
Staff, including headteacher Fey Wood, laid on a special thank you to all the children for their hard work, with a picnic (including jelly and ice cream) which Steve was delighted to join.
Speaking afterwards, Steve said: "Oliver's Battery has always been personal for me because I see such a lovely school that's been struggling for so long. When Fey Wood arrived it was a failing school and the journey to the recent Ofsted "Good" has been more hard work than we know.
"I was so thrilled when the news came through and pay such tribute to Fey, all the staff, parents, Governor's and children who deserve nothing less. Today's celebration was just perfect and the sun even shone for them!"
