Steve Brine has welcomed news that the northern section of the M3 has now become a 'smart' motorway.
The £174m upgrade has converted the 13 mile stretch between the M25 and Farnborough into a four-lane carriageway, with technology being utilised to manage traffic flow via using the hard shoulder and varying speed limits.
Winchester & Chandler's Ford MP Steve Brine said: "I am delighted to hear that the upgrade of the M3 to a Smart Motorway is complete, with only a testing phase to complete before its full completion.
"I use the M3 regularly myself, and I know that this upgrade will be welcome news to many of my constituents that use the M3 for commuting and non-work travel."
