Winchester MP Steve Brine joined key local business stakeholders at the Winchester Royal Hotel on Friday 21st January for a Parliamentary Breakfast meeting.

The breakfast, sponsored by Winchester Business Improvement District (BID), Hampshire Chamber of Commerce and the Hampshire Chronicle, drew guests from a number of local enterprises, as well as representatives from Hampshire County Council and the University of Winchester.

Chaired by Kit Finney, Chairman of the Winchester Area Committee, the event saw Steve provide a brief on the issues of the day, before taking part in a lively Q&A session to conclude.

Speaking afterwards, on his way to visit The Fryern Surgery in Chandler’s Ford, Steve said: “It never fails to inspire me to see so many people who really care about this constituency, and really go above and beyond to work to make it better.

“I know that Winchester would be a poorer place without organisations like the Chamber and BID, and I know BID has a very bright future under the leadership of their first Executive Director, Chris Turner.

“I am now able to provide Mark Prisk, Minister of State for Business and Enterprise, with a lot of feedback, specifically around issues such as broadband speed and Local Enterprise Partnerships.”
