Steve recently spoke to around 50 Rotarians from Chandler's Ford and the Alresfords, at the Potter's Heron in Ampfield, as they were joined by some special guests from across the pond. Steve addressed the group on Monday 20 September 2010, and variously discussed the recent General Election, and how life in Westminster is balanced with all the hard work of a local constituency MP. Speaking afterwards, Steve said: “As ever, it is a pleasure to meet with such a community-minded group such as the Rotary Club. I was delighted to be asked to discuss how my life has changed, and to provide everyone with some inside information about what is going on in Westminster with our new Coalition Government, which I am very proud to be part of. “I was also very pleased, as a former resident of Chicago, to be able to chat to some of our guests from the States, and to gain their perspective on current events.” Pictured; Steve joins Rotary Club President John Meechan at the popular Potter’s Heron in Ampfield
